Question type: General
My speakers go on & off, sometimes they only squick, must be going out, so
how do you check & replace with new or good used?

In my 2009 LT-2 Avalanche, I have 2 6.5" coaxial speakers in the rear doors along with 2 6.5" component speakers up front (6.5" mid-bass in the door + tweeters in the pillar). According to Crutchfield, there may also be a factory mounted 6.5" sub-woofer mounted in the center console. | Crtuchfield may be a good place to research what fits for your model-year and to see what factory replacement speakers are available that are in your budget. If you purchase from them, they typically include wiring harnesses and kits that you need to install the new equipment. They also sell separate tools for removing panels, so that you don't accidentally break the plastic fasteners (been there, done that, myself). Crutchfield will also publish troubleshooting articles that may be relevant to your truck. | If the speakers play sometimes, but not all the time, it could be a loose connection or possibly a wire that is going bad. Some vehicles will have the speaker wire, and other wiring for the door, going through plastic looming / flexible tubing and/or wrapped in (what looks like) heavy electrical tape then through a grommet between the cabin and the door. | I don't remember if Parts Express includes installation / mounting harnesses and wiring kits, but they have a nice selection of speakers that may fit your budget and listening preferences, too. I've shopped through both sites and have received quality products and service from both. Good luck!! | Links --- Crutchfield: http://www.crutchfield.com | Parts Express: http://www.parts-express.com/
