I have a 2006 PT Cruiser with approximately 90K miles. Every time I release the clutch there is sadistic rattling noise driving me insane. Placed in a new clutch a year ago with new shifter cables.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My PT cruiser is making a sadistic rattling noise when I release the clutch. I have
replaced the clutch and new shifting cables last year. What in the good name is going on?
Let me know before I take it to the mechanic so I can seem like I now what I am talking
about....90K miles....

Yes it stops when you press in the clutch. However, when I am riding both 1st and 2nd gear it makes that noise. All other gears are fine. Hoping it is not the transmission but not high on it.....I assume the clutch and tranny have different functions. However, do you have an estimate cost of fixing the throw out bearing? Thanks
