overheating

Asked by luvenbriar Sep 17, 2015 at 03:06 PM about the 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i have a 2006 PT Cruiser convertible, for the last month I have been having
problems with it running hot.. it would start to run hot and when i turn the
heater on it goes down below half. I replaced the thermostat and it was fine
for a few days and started doing it again yesterday.. I also flushed my
radiator and the water in it looked like straight mud. I really need this car
fixed because its my only vehicle and I have a 2 year old that I need to get
to appointments... ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME!! Thank you,
Kassie

Well I hope you got the mud out, that's one problem, also did you put a 50/50 mix in , instead of straight water? Need too. One other thing did you burp it? Run until warmed up with the radiator cap off, until all the air is out of the system.
