Where is the electrical solenoid located that releases the rear hatch on a 2006 PT Cruiser convertible?

Asked by cruisertom2001 May 17, 2012 at 10:18 AM about the 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring Convertible FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Rear hatch won't open with key fob or button in glove box. No clicking sound when pushing either one. Was told it was probably the electrical solenoid that operates the trunk lid linkage.

It is under the center iron design in the middle of the back. 2 fingers can squeeze it to open it, as the beginning. Now when I press it, it does nothing.
