What does the S 1 2 on the door do?

Asked by dearsa Oct 06, 2012 at 01:04 PM about the 2000 Chrysler Town & Country Limited LWB FWD

Question type: General

There are buttons on the driver door with a red S, a white 1, and a white 2. Can you let me know what
these are for?

Those are seat memory buttons, one for each person. Check your owner's manual for instructions if you can't figure it out.

If you adjust the driver's seat, side-view mirrors, and brake / accelerator to where you want them, then press S then 1 (or S, 2 if you're the second driver), it holds these presets for you. If anyone changes any of these, you can press 1 or 2 and everything will return to your desired places. You cannot change these settings or activate them while driving. Once drive, you must shut off your vehicle with the key out then start everything back up again to activate or set these presets. Hope this helps.
