2003 Chrysler Town and country 3.8L V6 valve cover gasket and intake gasket replacement

Asked by Jay Jan 04, 2014 at 01:05 AM about the 2003 Chrysler Town & Country LXi LWB FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

22003 Town and Country 3.8 L V6.  The dealership told me I needed new valve cover
gasket in the back cover and an intake gasket.  They want about $1000.00 to do the job.
Looks like a nightmare to get to the back cover.  Any suggestions or video instruction on
how to accomplish this myself?  There is a small noticeable oil leak and looks like the
back cover area so I believe the dealership on this one.

Nope, not a nightmare. Remove wiper cowl and assembly and you'll have all the room you need to replace cover, spark plugs, pcv, upper O2. About to do all that on my '03 3.8L this weekend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75slj0MvDVc
