Is the battery light on ? Because it sounds like the alternator is not charging should be charging at 14 volts with vehicle running.

Sounds like you have a short somewhere like a light that is staying on like the glove box or under hood light staying on or the headache one a motor shorting out like a window motor or something of that nature.

After re reading your question have the starter checked. Have someone tap on starter with a hammer while trying to start vehicle at the same time if vehicle starts replace starter. This is just one way of checking for a bad starter may work may not but it still can be the starter if does not start by tapping on starter.
