I'm somewhat confused by your question. Are you wanting to remove the rear driveshaft, in a effort to turn the van into FWD only? Or do you want to remove the rear drive because there is a brake problem? Either way, the answer is NO. The AWD drive vans used a special transmission, removing the shaft will render the van useless, and will probably puke out all of the transmission fluid in under a minute. Brakes are on all 4 wheels on every car regardless of drive type. In fact, if you are having an issue with no rear brakes, removing the awd system would make things far worse as some of the speed and engine power is actually used by the awd system. Also, those AWD vans are very hard to find. You need functioning brakes on all 4 wheels. If you're only using the fronts they will be overworked in no time and will probably cause complete brake loss. Your situation sounds extremely dangerous, not only to yourself, but to everyone else on the road.
