Buick century 2001 heat not working and temp gauge showing red mark

I have a 2001 buick century with the 3100 engine . The heat
started to blow cold air and will only blow hot when I rev the
engine . The thing is I put a headgasket aluminium sealer in the
coolant to stop leaks and maybe fix the heat problem but I now
am dealing with the temperature gauge going to maximum . Does
anyone know what it could be . Also it is not leaking anywhere
and the oils fine not mixing . Could it be a fuse ?

Stop leak products often cause more problems than they fix!! Your heater core is now clogged, which is why you have no heat. The coolant passages in the engine and radiator are now clogged too, which is why you're overheating! If you have a blown head gasket, which on the GM 3100 V6 is very possible, it's time to buy another vehicle. It's not worth the cost to fix this 19 year old vehicle!! Hope that helps! Jim
