Replaced entire positive battery cable on 2001 Buick Century. I connect both cables there is clicking in main fuse block under hood and dinging. Won't start. Lights work. What's up?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car won't turn over.  All lights work.  Dinging and clicking finally stop.  Some
dashboard icon lights will stay on, e.g. service engine soon, security, air bag
and a couple others.  In main fuse block under hood the crank and ign fuses
click.

Check and clean your ground wires, not enough power running threw yet. Also check the battery, make sure it is fully charged.

All fixed! Checking and cleaning the terminal ends made be re- think how I connected the cable. Buick ran both neg/pos cables through the same flex tubing from one side of the car to the other side connecting to starter and ground post. I mistakenly ran the pos cable to the ground post because I didn't have good visibility. Once corrected all worked fine. What a dunce.
