Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 Buick Century w/74,000 miles. When I apply the brakes they sometimes
make a noise like a sick cow and push back, but they didn't do it when I left the car for
the mechanic to drive. Yesterday the anti-lock brake light came on and the noise and
push-back intensified. What might be the problem, and is it very expensive to repair?

The problem was a Code C1223 1216 L/R Speed Sensor open. I had the L/R Speed Sensor Hub Assembly replaced, and that solved the problem.
