Check what accessories are plugged in while parked. Some will drain the battery to such an extent it won't start.

I am having the same problem with my 2010 Buick LaCrosse CXS 44,000 miles. I had this problem 4 years ago and they replaced the battery that was still under warrranty. Now I'm having a problem again and nothing is under warranty I just recently bought it another battery and I can tell that it is weakening with every start. don't know what to do.

I have replaced the battery 3 times in my 2014 Lacrosse. Please tell me why. The last one only lasted 13 months. The phone notice comes up saying that it is on and I have disconnected it on the steering wheel. I believe this is a defect in the system. Please help. Janet

I have a 2010 Buick Lacrosse that we have owned since it was new. We have had to replace the battery in 2014, 2016, and now 2018. The car is kept in a garage and it is driven normally. We don't have any external devices plugged in that would be draining the battery. Also, the other vehicle that we have, does not go through batteries every two years. Even Firestone is asking what we are doing to the vehicle batteries. Any ideas.

They are all beautiful lemons. I have a 2012 and had the same problem since I purchased it. They don't hold a battery charge, and instead of the company recalling and fixing the problem, the silently sit and watch their customers complain and offer no real solution.

We have a 2017 Buick LaCrosse Essence. We don't drive it much and as a result, when we go to start it after two to three weeks of non-use, it doesn't start. The first time, we had it towed to dealership where they replaced the battery. The second time, they found a draw, fixed the problem, found another draw in the steering gear box. That was replaced. Thank goodness it was under warranty as these repairs would have cost over 2 grand. 2 months have past, I wen to start it this morning and it wouldn't start. Back to the dealership. It seems this vehicle line is no stranger to electrical issues. It doesn't fall under the lemon law. I wish we could send it back to the manufacturer.

I just replaced the radio and got a new battery in my 2014 Buick Lacrosse. According to my buick dealer, the radio was draining my battery after being left idle for several days. This dead battery issue happened 3 times since february (i got a new battery in feb, and now replaced again today). The diag test for draw found 200 milliamp draw on battery. They pulled fuses to find what circuit was draining the amps. #4 15-amp fuse for radio was deemed the culprit. When they unplugged the radio the draw went to 9 milliamp. The certified buick mechanic says anytime im going to not be using the car for an extended period, i should disconnect the battery since new car electronics will discharge my battery. i just spent $987 and still should disconnect the battery? BS, Just doesn’t sound like this is the way any should be. Do dealers disconnect the batteries in all their cars on the lot?

I also have a 2012 Buick LaCrosse 3.6L FWD Leather Package and the first thing that went was the Starter. After that, it was the battery. And finally, the Alternator. There are 2 common denominators to this; 1. You 'cannot' go the cheap and inexpensive route when it comes to changing the Alternator, Battery, and Starter. It must be OEM parts from AC Delco, or GM. 2. I believe the all-aluminum engine block has an extended draw where they connect the ground wiring. Your Starter, Battery, Alternator, in that order, will either go, or start to go, after about 5yrs of use, depending on the model and accessories you get. I spoke with GM on the phone, and was given this little tidbit. The computer (PCM) needs to relearn the parts and will make the necessary adjustments in due time. I know. Go figure. Their info, not mine. So the bottom line is; "Bad design" on GM's end. Use this link for your part numbers, info, etc: https://www.acdelco.com/? ppc=GOOGLE_700000001302653_71700000045633395_58700004687996715_p3966443758 4&&d_src=313715&d_adsrc=4569404&d_campaign=71700000045633395&d_site=GOOGLE& d_adgroup=58700004687996715&d_keyword=ac+delco&gclick=EAIaIQobChMIuvG0ypeN5wI Vi5yzCh16LQnYEAAYASAAEgLtPvD_BwE&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuvG0ypeN5wIVi5yzCh16LQn YEAAYASAAEgLtPvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds GL!

After many years of my car dying and having to jump it everyday we figured it out. It was the radio! We just took the radio fuse out and instant fix! We also changed the serpentine belt because we had checked the alternator which was fine.

The problem with the 2010 Buick Lacrosse is that it uses capacitors to control and power the central information management system, which includes the radio, the air conditioning, the GPS, the display, the seat heaters, and many other components. These capacitors draw power from the battery even when the engine is off, in order to remember things like radio presets, your last destinations on the GPS, etc. When one of these capacitors loses its "capacitance," the central control computer (ECM) will attempt to charge the capacitors continuously, causing what is called "parasitic drain" of your battery, a drain which is sufficient to render your battery completely dead overnight. The design flaw in the 2010 Buick Lacrosse is that they tied this ENTIRE central control system to A SINGLE 15 amp fuse under the dash. So, if it is a RADIO capacitor that is causing the drain on any OTHER car, you could simply remove the radio fuse and the drain problem would be (temporarily) eliminated. But when you remove that fuse on the 2010 Buick Lacrosse, you lose All if the controls mentioned above, EVERYTHING on that central control panel. The only solution is to replace the entire radio/GPS/air coditioning/seat contol system, which costs a couple thousand dollars, NOT including labor! Hence, the need for a new car.

I have a2012 Lacross and suffer one year of battery drain problem, I have followed the problem and found out that the fuse 35A which controls the radio too is the source of the drain. When I pulled the fuse for 3 weeks the problem disappear. Un fortunately the problem is not permanent. I took the car twice to the dealer and there the problem disappeared.

2011 Lacrosse battery drain traced to #5 fuse (Radio). The fuse is located behind the document compartment left of the steering column. I'm going to install an auxiliary switch that I can turn off when parking the car. If I knew that this level of engineering was practiced at General Motors I would have quit grade school and hired as a lead engineer at Buick.

So if I take out the radio fuse and the ECM FUSE will that help with battery being drained?

I purchased my 2013 car brand new off the lot and have the same issues. I 'am frustrated beyond belief. I have lost count of how many batteries I had to replace. I took it to a local Auto Zone and they tested the battery and alternator. The results came back fine. So recently, I was told to replace my fuse box which I had to order from California. Well I paid to have that replaced and guess what? I have continued to experience getting in my car and it will not start right away. So, I took it to the dealership and they suggested that I get it tested for parasitic draining and several hundred dollars later I was told that was not the problem. So in October of 2023 I purchased another battery. It is now November 7,2023 and my car would not start right away this morning.
