No Forward gears on 2000 LeSabre.

Hello, I've just bought a distressed 2000 Lesabre. The main problem: it does not go forward
(tries but fails on cold, no attempt on hot engine), in any gear selector position. Reverse does
work . DTC shows only P0502 (VSS low input). I could not find any previous posts on such
issue. Please, share your thoughts/experience.

Start with,make sure your transmission fluid is topped up.
