Asked by GuruM2SPX May 27, 2020 at 04:24 PM about the 2000 Buick LeSabre Limited Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After gas fill up, car turns over rapidly but won't
start unless I push on gas pedal (as if flooded),
when it does start, it races up and down for about
30 seconds before I can drive off

scan for codes even if the light ain't on , could be fuel pressure regulator or IAC valve , clean the IAC port .

Sounds like the purge valve for the EVAP system is stuck open. This will allow gasoline to be forced into the engine while refueling. It should trigger the check engine light or service engine soon light though. Hope that helps! Jim
