Noisy A/C unit attached to surpertine belt. Repair / replace ?

Coming up to a fork in the road. Do I go left or right? Your answer “YES” ! Result: Doesn’t help a bit. If this A/c unit easily reparable, and if so how is it done.

Depending on the noise, if it just the serpentine belt, then your lucky. If the AC compressor is making noise, in most cases the unit is replaced and not repaired. Figure around $600 to $1000 for the job at a local shop. What shape is the rest of the vehicle in? I'd have a hard time investing that much in and old Lesabre.
