What causes your AC Fan to go out in 2001 Buick Lesabre?

The last two weeks my car has been making a noise (Like a Disposal in kitchen sink) At first it was only when I had the AC blowing on low. It has since made a louder noise over time and finally quit blowing, Vent and all. Is ths the Ac motor or Fan moto?
