2002 buick leSabre

We have replaced the plugs/wires twice, it is still missing. when the car is in idol  
there is a snapping sound and smoke from the sparkplugs. what is wrong with
it?

Did you gap the spark plugs before installation? Is one of the spark olugs cross threaded and leaking compression? Do this pull the plug wires one at a time while idling to locate the missing cylinder then double check plug and wire for that cylinder. Careful there can be 50.000 volts in these wires, use insulated pliers or use a wire to ground the pliers you use, don't rip the boots. I hope this helps. Take care.
