I've had interest from someone out of state; how should payment be arranged to protect both parties?

Cash is king. It's best they come out and make the deal in person. If they're insisting on sending you a check, even a cashier's check, and that someone will come out to ship it, be wary - especially if they want to overpay.

Ask your banker what they will accept without a 2 week hold. Usually only a cashiers check drawn on your own bank.

Wow -- OLD OLD replies. Either most people have stopped using AutoPay Director or no one recently has had problems with financial institutions using AutoPay. Specifically I'm dealing with an Out of State Buyer -- so anyone have an answer to the situation?
