At some point car manufacturers stopped putting lighters in cars (and ash trays) in place of the lighter they put a power port .....from the outside they look the same but a power port will not make a lighter element heat up because the bottom connection is different. If you need a lighter......either buy one on the internet or go to a salvage yard and get one. and install it in place of the power port.
