could the speed sensor affect the speedo to miss read and sometimes not work at all?

Driving and sometime the speedo reads 80 but going 30mph and then it does not work at
all while driving.

this only happens at speeds above 60mph at lower speeds it works fine.

Changed the speed sensor located on the transmission, still have the problem. Speedo is pointed almost straight down not at zero. Anymore suggestions?
Mine is doing similar. It is not a fuse or anything....ha. Just all of a sudden went bazerk. Hit 130mph and others are at 80- 90mph.???!?!?! What to do
It is the Stepper Motor. Your best bet is to send it out for repair. someone like this http://drspeedometer.com or this http://www.speedometerrepairguy.com/pricing.htm or many others that you can find on the internet.
Maybe you have accidentally pushed the button changing MP/H to KM/H? Check this first before messing with sensors and looking for other problems. Good Luck

try disconnecting the battery, let it sit, reconnect. a reset if you will........
