It sounds like there is low voltage going to the starter. Check the battery voltage. If it starts with jumper cables, you know it's a battery problem.

Yeah, even when I turn the key, the voltage is only at about 10 or lower, all the lights were dimming. I just changed the battery about a year and a half ago, but it's got major electrical issues anyway.
