Battery keeps dying

I put a new battery in my 1994 Buick park ave and now the alternator light
keeps coming on and after about a week the battery dies. The alternator is
about six months old  help

Have you inspected the serpentine belt and its idler pulley? If the belt is not tensioned properly (or misrouted after installing the new alternator) it may not be turning the alternator fast enough to properly charge your battery. Or you may just have bought a defective alternator and you need to replace it again.
