Experiencing this same issue. I have had the tires rotated and balanced 5 times before replacing the entire rims and tires but to no avail. I had the drive shaft balanced. No help. Engine blew up due to the oil pump going. Replaced the engine with a remanufactured engine as well as replacing the starter, brakes, transmission lines, radiator, rotors, distributor, coolant hoses, entire A/C system, alternator, and battery. Also replaced sway bar, ball joints, and tie rods. Still have this issue. I'm quite certain it is the transmission or torque convertor. Only thing holding me up is the small chance it could be the rear end. Also the trans still functions. Would have thought if it was the transmission or differential it would have destroyed itself by now. Thinking that since this only happens in 3rd or 4th gear the shifting isn't enough to blow it out but enough to rattle. As I throttle it to higher speeds the higher torque seems to reduce the vibration. Also if it was the differential or rear axle I figured I should feel it at all speeds.

Having the same problem changed everything brakes, rotors rear drums, rebuild the drive shaft, replace idler arm, new tires
