I have a 92 RS camaro V8. Can someone explain how the fuel regulator works?

....yes, if you apply vacuum to the diaphragm it releases more fuel...makes sense, doesn't it...as you rev the motor, it wants to provide more fuel...restricts the fuel flow when NO vacuum is applied....wondered about this myself...but seems kinda intuitive~

replace the butyl rubber vacuum lines with silicone ones (the kind police cars use and all BMW's use) they won't degrade and leak like the black ones do~

the diaphragm can tear then fuel flow will be restricted....vacuum lines can leak (then you'll have increased idle and poor performance) and restricted fuel flow...is this what's happening?
Here's the piece I have a question about - How does this work? How do I know if it needs to be replaced or if it is working properly?

it should have a bellows which opens up the flow when vacuum is applied...no vacuum=no flow.

does not look like the bellows is even there in your photo~

must have....you weren't using some newfangled fuel system cleaner? something caused the bellows to disintegrate to where it got burned up as fuel~

IT HAS A BELLOWS...had to look at this jumpy woman to prove it~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9QlOiovQxM
Didn't know that was even possible - Guess I need a new regulator then
