2006 Jeep Wrangler sport, 4.0 automatic- intermittent stalling

Asked by Guru6C29P Mar 19, 2020 at 07:38 AM about the 2006 Jeep Wrangler Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2006 Jeep Wrangler sport, 4.0 automatic- intermittent stalls when stopped and
in gear like at a stop sign or red light. No stutter, power stays on, and starts
back up with no issues. Happens about once a week. Changed out the crank
position sensor and the idle air control valve. Idles strong and steady, just
stalls when stopped

Get u sum carb cleaner and clean out the throttle valve real good.. u should see its all black with soot

Thanks, but that was the first thing I tried. I’m going to do the TPS next. Seems that this is a common issue and not much of a success rate. From local garages to dealerships, many Jeep owners have tried with no one having an answer. Some have fixed it with the crank sensor, some the IDle air, and some with TPS. Some, unfortunately still have the same problem
