What upgrades can I do to increase the cooling system

Asked by GuruD4273B Aug 07, 2024 at 06:18 PM about the 1995 Chevrolet C/K 2500 Silverado Extended Cab LB HD 4WD

Question type: Car Customization

Good evening everyone, I'm curious as to what I
can do to upgrade the cooling system in my truck,
cause it's just barely started getting up to and
slightly about 210 especially at idle and figure now
is a good tome to get upgraded parts. It does have
a stage two cam (if that makes any difference)
everything else is stock and I have to do do quite a
bit of fire wood hauling and canyon driving. Just
had the transmission rebuilt as well.

Bigger radiator, add a transmission cooler bypassing the one in the radiator, add a flex fan 5 blades or better. If you want to get crazy add on a misting unit that sprays water in the front of the radiator at the flick of a switch.

Also, check your ignition timing and the advance mechanisms for the distributor. If not set properly the engine will run hot. I'm assuming you replaced the timing chain and sprockets when you did the cam. Jim
