does it have a manual or a auto transmission and doyou know the gearing of the differential
It has auto trans and I dont know the gear ratio.
that truck will have no problem pulling that 5th wheel
overall, the gear ratio in the differential can be closely estimated as follows , with the trans in the highest gear witout being in overdrive ... I think yours is a 4L-60 E trans . this would be drive .. not overdrive .. run the truck at 60 mph and record the rpm at that speed . for 3.08 gears this would be about 2400 rpm . for 3.73 gears it's about 2850 rpm and for 4.11's its right around 3000 . now this will vary up to 10 % depending on the rear tire diameter ( not the rim size ) , measure with a tape from the ground to the top of the tread . A tall tire( over thirty inches ) with 4.11 gears may tach out like a 3.73 at 60 and conversely a short tire (under 28 inches ) with 4.11's would actually be like a 4.56 gear ,or around 3500 rpm at 60 mph ... get the idea ? these of course are just ball park numbers for the rpm's but if two of the factors are known ,IE tire diameter and rpm at 60 ,the gear ratio can be very closely approximated . hope this helps .. do they still put the build sheet on the inside of the glovebox door ? it will tell you the axle ratio
