your engine temperature isn't getting up to operating temp. Either stuck open/no thermostat, or faulty temp sensor. Not to be confused with temp sending unit that works the gauge. If your gauge operates normally and hangs around the middle of the gauge then the truck is getting up to temp and the temp sensor is either bad or unplugged. If the gauge is always bottomed out then your thermostat is likely the issue
