fuel tank callapse

2000 chevy k3500. what is causing fuel tank callapse. replaced original with
aftermarket. lasted about 2 yrs. 2nd one lasted about 5 weeks. now putting in
another. mechanic claims tanks don't callapse. fuel cap was replaced by epa
echeck facilty., said the original cap was faulty.

seems the whole problem was the new fuel cap. seems there were 2 vacuum systems for 2000 chevy k3500. mine required a gm cap that has a vacuum regulator built in. a regular vented cap will not work
