92 Lumina turns over but wont crank

Asked by Michael Dec 03, 2015 at 12:10 PM about the 1992 Chevrolet Lumina Euro Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My wife has a 92 Lumina 3.1 and yesterday she said the car drove fine,
and last night she went to leave in it and it would turn over great but it will
not crank. I have got the check engine codes and they are -13-(open
oxygen sensor circuit)  22- (throttle position sensor - signal voltage low), 35
- Idle speed control circuit.   I don't mind replacing these sensors if I need
to but do you think this would cause it not to crank at all?

Cranking meaning the engine starting? The po35 code would cause the car not to start, I am coming up with a coil problem with this code. There are other components that all have to work together to energize and release a spark. You have the coil which is controlled by the ignition control module, and the coil pick-up. These two items are under the distributor cap and can be tested by most Auto Zones stores.
