was stalling than shut down all-together No Spark from coil, Code PO338c I replaced the
crank sensor still no spark...Checked the Exciter ring on crank its not loose. But it does
have input voltage at the coil

Voltage at the coil is good, the coil receives voltage from the computer and that charged the primary windings inside the coil creating a magnetic field around the primary and secondary windings. once the voltage is dropped from the coil the magnetic field is dropped which creates voltage inside the secondary windings which is discharged as a spark.Have you had your coil tested? Do you have an ohm meter?
yes i have a ohm meter . was trying to find a flow chart/ wiring diagram for this unit engine
Pull the coil and test resistance from the power to the ground where the computer plugs in and test resistance between the distributor lug and the metal frame around the coil.
at ECM . or at coil to check primary winding ?
I have a 2005 Chevy Express 1500 4.3 and I was getting no spark. I spent a lot of time and money trying to figure out why I was getting no spark. I replaced the whole ignition system and fuel pump. It started yesterday and ran for a minute. Drove it down the street as I was turning around it shut off and wouldn't start back up. Pull it back to where I had it and checked it out and I wasn't getting spark again. Did research and come to find out I only needed a spacer on the crankshaft sensor. As soon as I put one on it it started right up. Turned it off and it started right back up. Anyone having this problem try this just might work for you.
