what is the bell housing # on a 1998 Chevy pick-up

There is no bell housing on an automatic transmisiion. A bell housing on a manual transmission is where the flywheel and clutch are. The same area iof an automatic is where the torqe converter is protected by the transmission housing.

Dont know the # but it is the same bolt pattern as any small block (305, 350) or 4.3. But since the 4l60e is electronic controlled it can only go in a 96+ truck set up for it.
Bruce is incorrect. The hosing that connects to the motor and transmission is called a bellhousing on automatic and manual transmissions. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ado- 24206953/year/1999/make/chevrolet/model/silverado-1500
