My 98 k1500 will start when it's cold, but not after it has been driven

Ignition coil can act like that. When the coil heats up the primary and secondary windings within the coil expand and thus make contact. When it is warm measure your coil with a ohm meter. Not sure what particular readings should be though.
Does your oil smell like gas? The spider injectors are known to leak fuel into the intake when they go bad
