97 silverado, sever knock, very loud

starter last legs, let sit for a week til have new starter.  start to move and severe loud knock like something hiting, no previous indication.  install new starter,starts at touch of key, oil full, pressure normal, severe loud knock. 350.

Sorry to say but your engines about to blow. The loud knock is the valves about to seize up. The louder it gets the closer it is to seizing. Need a valve job, expensive.
