Transmission

Asked by Cheriseh Jul 29, 2017 at 07:15 AM about the 1997 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Extended Cab RWD

Question type: General

replaced my transmission.  How many
quarts a fluid do I need to have  for the
transmission and tork converters

1 Answer

159,355

I'd put about 6 quarts in and briefly start the engine, shut it off and add about 3 more quarts and start and shift through the gears then fill as necessary. I agree with Tim in that it will hold between 11 and 12 quarts.
