Oil pressure

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So the other my 97 Chevy Silverado 4.3l vortec oil
pressure spiked out completely. I checked the oil I seen
no coolant in it. My oil level was perfect.  So I did an
engine flush thinking it might be a clog and changed the
oil. And it's still maxed out on the gauge.  Any advice of
what's going on?

first of all....did you change the oil sending unit yet?????????????

No but I put a Manuel oil pressure gauge and it done the same thing as the dash gauge,which oil Pressure goes from 42 psi. To 18psi.after it get a hot
