1997 chevy just a single click when I start.
My truck is 1997 chevy k1500 extended cab. 4x4 I
have been having start issues for past couple
months. I go to start it and just hear a single click.
The battery is new starter is new. Alternator is new.
Cables are good. Ground is good and have about
13v. Need help cause I can't afford to take to shop.
Note diagram for starter motor. See starter relay, unplug it, use jumper wire between the two terminals on the load side of relay, right side in the diagram. That top wire on the right, hot all the time and fuse protected. The starter motor should crank the engine, at the least, you'll know the starter motor works and the engine isn't seized. If it works with jumper but otherwise, doesn't, have to check control side of relay, left side in diagram, the top wire on left side is voltage, bottom wire is ground. Any testing, make sure transmission is in park or neutral and parking brake is set. Vehicle can't move.
It still just clicks and sounds like a whine too. I tried rolling the motor to see it it would and I can't get it to move. Hope engine isn't seized.
