Motor swap

Asked by Wandadavid Mar 24, 2016 at 12:23 PM about the 1997 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: General

Will the motor out of my 93 4 wheel drive
interchange with the motor in my 97 4 wheel drive
Chevrolet Silverado both of them I noticed that all
the air conditioner and power steering and all that
stuff is different on the front of the motor

Give your local wrecking yard a call, they will know the right answer. If it does you may need to swap the main computers so things work together.

The motor will fit but it will not run. The 93 motor is run by an OBD1 computer and is a TBI set-up, the motor from the 97 is a Vortec engine with SMPFI fuel delivery system and is run by an OBDII computer. Both totally different.
