Will a bad oil sending unit stop the motor from firing

If I'm not mistaken, a faulty oil pressure sending unit sends a code for the engine not to start as it has to do with a safety issue as if the vehicle had been in a collision, it shuts off the fuel........

the oil sending unit has lot to do with engine getting fuel in chevy trucks. bad unit no gas, no start! even after truck running if oil sender is malfunctioning it will affect ur fuel pump
