Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck radiator burst this week.  I noticed the check gauges light on before it did.  I replaced and noticed temp gauge maxing out.  I checked fan is working and replaced thermostat.  The gauge is still maxing out.  This truck is old and I don't want to put a lot of money into it.

if it is overheating you might have a bad head gasket. there is a combustion leak test kit for about 40 bucks, or you can have a shop diagnose using a sniffer. this will give you an accurate test to see if you have a bad head gasket.
