I just had a fuel pump put in my 96 chevy pickup. Everything was fine but now it has started dying when I slow down or stop. Hard to restart almost like it's flooded. Some days it runs fine ideas?

I was wondering about fuel filter. Im going to get one today and put it in. I hope thats all it is but for some reason my gut says no.
