My 1995 Chevy truck slowly stalls out when I am stopped in gear

Asked by 624127cliff Apr 06, 2015 at 10:30 AM about the 1995 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Cheyenne LB RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 95 Chevy four-wheel-drive truck slowly drops in RPMs and stalls out when I am
stopped in  gear. I have replaced the injection and both sensors, when the truck first
starts it idles high. The engine sounds fine and idle smoothly in either park or neutral.
Please help I am at a loss as to what else could be wrong.

The top three things I would suspect is the Idle Air Control valve, Engine Coolant Temp sensor, or MAP sensor. If you haven't done a tune up lately, it may be a good idea as well.

Sounds to me that you should start by doing a normal Tune-up. If you are doing a more than usual off road driving the Oil, Oil/Air Filter is also advisable.--Good luck
