Engine swap
Asked by Wyatt Jan 28, 2018 at 09:38 AM about the 1995 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Cheyenne LB RWD
Question type: Car Customization
I'm wanting more power out of my 1995
Chevy Cheyenne and I'm wanting to know
what engine size I should go with. I was
going to put a Short block 350 in it because
it'll bolt up to the 5 speed transmission I
already have inside of it. If I decide to go
with a little more power, what other size
engines can I put inside the pick up and it
still bolt up the the original 5 speed
transmission that is already inside it?

Modifications to the 350 will make all the power you need and keep the same mounting points.
Okay Oldstorqnpower I do plan on putting 4:10 gears in the rearend. I want to build I am thinking a 350 up to my standards. I want a solid sounding loap as well as to show power when needed. Plus this is just a project truck to get into a little fun in.
A Chevy 383 would make a great truck engine. Olds above ^^^ is correct about the lope. A hot cam will make poor torque and is a poor choice for a truck that is used as a truck.
If you can give us the performance level you want and use of the truck it would help.
Can I replace my 4.3 with a 350 an use same automatic transmission
