Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I'm having a hard time trying to find a motor
to put into my 1994 k1500 I want to vortec
swap it but I'm worried it will be a huge
project due to installing the new computer
and wiring harness with it. Is there anything
else I should worry about with that or any
other suggestions and motors that will fit
right in with no hassle that are cheap and
easy to find?

I did this on my 1995 Silverado, you can get a different intake manifold threw Jegs, P/N 809-12496821. Then you can hook the motor up the way your old motor was. Interchange parts to eliminate crank shaft sensor & cam shaft sensor, from the parts off you old motor. You will need the driver side exhaust manifold for the Vortec.
Forgot to mention, then you do not have to swap out the computer & wire harness.

How do you get a complete wiring harness I have a 97. Chevy 4wd K1500
What would you need a wiring harness for? Is yours fried?
The best place to find a wiring harness would be at a junk yard.

Yes been having Alot electrical issues with my truck and was recommended we get complete bumper to bumper due to the fact they couldn't find where the short is.
It just doesn't make sense to me. Its just electrical wiring and to replace it all in a vehicle I think would just cause a lot more head aches. You need to find someone good with electrical wiring and circuits.

You can do the light bulb trick hooked upto your battery and start pulling fuses when the light dies that means your short is on that circuit. If that helps.
