I do believe that the bell houseing is different between the two transmisions. Plus not to sure the tranny would hold uo to the lt1 350. Plus the torck converter will probly be different

no it wont but a 700r4 or a 4l60e will perfectly
94-96 chevyLT-1 uses a 4L60E auto.4 speed with overdrive
Aaacar is correct the 4.3 uses the same trans as the Vette. Some internals and the torque converter are beefed a bit.
4.3 v6 bellhousing pattern is the same as an lt1 or any small block chevy or even big blocks. The LSX engines have been changing it up tho. A trans designed for the 4.3 is a little weaker than one make to be behind a v8. Less clutch packs, servos, blah, blah, blah. They can be upgraded to be better still.
the 5 speed will work but be warned, dont be rough on those factory 5 speeds. They can last a long time but if you like quick shifting it will die quick.
thank you for the help.
So a 1992 Chevy 4.3L V6 is compatible with a 1992 2500(3/4) transmission ? And the bellhousing will fit perfectly?
i have a 1991 chevy 1500 short bed,,with a 5.7 stock,,will a 4.3 trans work and be ok with changing anything,,this is not a hot rod,,got it new trans went out a few years ago ,,just fixing it up,,found a trans in a truck with a 4.3 engine,,just need to know if that trans will work

Got a 96 gmc 4.3 k1500 5 spd. Can i toss in a 350 with a new clutch and be good to to?
Similar issue just reversed, I have a 98 k1500 wt 4.3l with a bad trans. Can I use a trans out of a 98 silverado 5.7l? Would it be plug and play? Both 4wd and both run 4l60e.
We tried to install the 4L60E from a 2000 Chevy 1500 with a 4.3L Vortec into a 1997 1500 5.7L, Ok, we successfully installed it, however, we're not happy with the performance... Questiom 1) Should we have changed any parts (ie bellhousing, torque converter) before installation? and Numero 2) Would a stall converter help the situation or is that, as they say, like shining up a turd?
i have a transmission out of a 1994 caprice and was wondering if it would bolt up to my 2001 s10 blazer 4.3 minus the bolt on top
