What makes the motor make like a hesitation sound while its idleing?

Asked by migration_jposs0423 Apr 15, 2015 at 10:05 AM about the 1991 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Extended Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

While my truck idles, it makes kinda like a
barely notice popping sound like a
hesitation sound and it brings my RPM's
down and the motor tries to die but it
basically revives its self and keeps doing it.
But when the motor is cold, it doesn't really
do that but it does when its warm or barely
starting to warm up.

Remove and clean your throttle body. Replace your Idle Air Control valve and your Engine Coolant Temp sensor.

Is the check engine light on? If not, I would do that for starters. 90% of the time, poor idle is due to dirty throttle bodies and bad IAC valves.

Yes it comes on every other day or when its been driven off and on all day. Is it only the throttle body and IAC valves? Or is it more then that?

If your CEL is coming on, then yes, it's possibly more than that. You should bring it to Autozone and have the error codes read. You can post them back here and someone can look them up for you. You could have misfire codes or something like that.
