On 3rd fuel pump on 2007 Toyota Camry LE

Biggest killer of fuel pumps is running less than 1/4 tank of fuel, this causes the fuel pump to overheat cause it uses the fuel as a coolant. Second one is over voltage, was the fuel pump relay replaced? Third is poor quality fuel or contaminated fuel. Forth is a restriction in the fuel delivery, pinched fuel line, plugged fuel filter or bad pressure regulator. Remember you need to replace the fuel filter and fuel pump relay with every fuel pump you replace.

Make sure they clean the inside of the gas tank and replace the in tank fuel filter, aka the "sock" that goes on the end of the fuel pump pick up tube. Also the fuel pump relay should be replaced, especially since you're having trouble with the fuel pumps. Hope that helps! Jim

Oh and make sure they're replacing the whole fuel pump module assembly, not taking the module apart and just changing the pump itself. Jim

If you are using aftermarket pumps for replacements.....that may be the problem. Consider an OEM Toyota pump.

Its the flex fuel we all are forced to buy now, which alcohol/ethanol content can be as high as 40-60% ethanol is not nice to rubber components, and does not contain enough oils (fuel borne) to keep pump lubricated causing over heat and grooving in vanes of pump. Vanes= a star like pattern outer ring that rotates around pump motor output. Try running "regular" unleaded gas available at circle k stores, (I do not endorse nor work or compensated for recommendation) its just the only place i know that still sells whole gas. Autozone Oreilleys carquest rockauto parts 8 times out of 10 you get a short life pump (so you'll buy another) as Tony suggested OEM will cost more in short run but give you more on the long run.

Ps OEM pump may be discontinued may have to go used or shop around from a party that has NOS parts. New Old Stock.
