My 2000 v6 toyota camry turns on but just for a second and goes off right after it goes on. Only when is hot. In the mornings generally it turns on fine for like 15 minutes. Some said to check the fuel pump, and alternator, but they are fine, i think it has to do with the plastic connectors that go in to the camshaft position sensor that are falling apart for so much heat on the sidesn and an electritian man did a new one just the ends so it would connect the sensor tightly, but is going off when the car is on after 15 minutes or so. What should i do? replace the sensor? i can´t find the original connectors 2 Answers

Need to change timing belt on 2000 Totota Camry 57,000. Mechanic says cost is $750.00.Is it needed at this mileage and if so how much should the repair cost. 3 Answers
I think $750.00 is very high. Also, don't have any problems with the car, always do required maintenance by the book. Should be able to go longer without this expense. Just need to know if I can wait...

I went to the mechanic who changed the ERG valve in and reset the code. He said its a generic code and he couldn't do anything else. I went to the toyota dealer who said they would have to change the vavle again since that's the code!!! the smog shop couldn't help they don't give detailed info on 2000 and above vehicles. So I need to pass smog and no one can help. it could be anything with the PO 401 code. I need to find out what it is and fix it. it's a 2000 Toyota Camry 4 cylinder. 7 Answers
