Is the CEL(Check Engine Light) ON when the engine is running? Sounds like we need to do some diagnosis of the Charging System. Minimally...we would need a Digital Volt Ohm Meter and some electrical skills. Also...there might be a Toyota Service Bulletin concerning this issue. That Battery Light might be Computer Controlled. Let's search the internet by Googleing 2007 Toyota Camry battery Light ON.

Ok...looks like there is a 7.5 amp Alt. Fuse you might want to check. Should be in one of those fuse/relay boxes under the hood. The charging system on this vehicle IS Computer controlled. You might consider finding a Parts Store near by who will test your charging system for FREE. Does the warning light glow or ficker? Might also be a bad DIODE in the Alt.

I have a 2012 Camry SE. It has sat awhile and the battery had died when I tried to start the car. I charged the battery and now rests at 12.5v. Now when I go to start the car there is no power at all to the inside of the car. No gauge lights come on when you turn the key, but the steering wheel can be turned and the car cannot be shifted into neutral. I checked all fuses, including the long ones that house the alternator, all check out fine. I used my dmm and I have power to alternator and starter. Security light is on inside the car. I have tried all three keys I have for the car with no avail. 3 Answers

battery is fully charged now, all connections are tight and clean. (car only has 9950 miles on it). Power to alternator, starter. All fuses good, no power to inside of vehicle and nothing on besides...

I went to the mechanic who changed the ERG valve in and reset the code. He said its a generic code and he couldn't do anything else. I went to the toyota dealer who said they would have to change the vavle again since that's the code!!! the smog shop couldn't help they don't give detailed info on 2000 and above vehicles. So I need to pass smog and no one can help. it could be anything with the PO 401 code. I need to find out what it is and fix it. it's a 2000 Toyota Camry 4 cylinder. 7 Answers
