My engine seized after an improper oil change. The company’s insurance has offered to pay to replace my engine with a used engine of roughly the same mileage. Will agreeing to this depreciate the overall resale/trade-in value of my car?
The insurance company and/or the engine dealer will not offer me more than a 90 day
warranty, no labor included. This makes me nervous so I am considering accepting the
offer and then selling my repaired car. Before I agree, I want to know whether the value
of my car is depreciated as a result of all of this.

I would expect the value to stay the same. Would you expect the value to decrease if the transmission was replaced? It's as big as an engine.
go talk to your lawyer suspect that the offer will increase will increase even more with publicity
Have you consulted your insurance company? they may have an opinion in dealing with the other company. Also "roughly the same mileage" ? in what condition? is the replacement motor going to be able to be checked out by an independent mechanic/garage/dealer of your choosing? Good Luck HTH
I wouldn't go any less than a completely rebuilt engine (crate motor) by a third party (Napa), INSTALLED by a third party. Or call a lawyer.
I agree with everyone above. Talk to your insurance ASAP, I would not accept an engine I have no history on. I would expect the value to decrease. If i were a buyer and you told me the engine was swapped im going to ask why and when im told the previous engine blew im gonna have second thoughts on the entire car.
You do not give the age of your vehicle. I would never accept a used motor as adequate as service history is usually unverifiable on a used motor. Consult a lawyer. You should get a rebuilt or new engine, all new belts and hoses, and a new thermostat. New antifreeze and recharge the air conditioning if necessary not to mention at least a one year warrantee on the entire repair
